Maytag Dishwasher Parts List

Dishwashers have been in common use since the 1970s and are an essential appliance in many kitchens. Maytag makes dishwashers and is a trusted brand in home appliances. Many common dishwasher
problems can be resolved with a replacement part. Common Maytag dishwasher parts to replace are the water inlet valve, the pump impeller assembly and drain hoses, door gasket, door switch, selector switch, heating element and handle latch.

Water Inlet Valve
# The water inlet valve controls the flow of water into the dishwasher. The water inlet is usually on a cycle for a certain length of time, but if the inlet valve is broken and interferes with the right amount of water for washing, the dishes won't get clean. This part is under $50.
Pump Impeller Assembly
# The pump impeller assembly is the part of the machine that pumps water into the machine for washing and out of the machine after washing. It has an inlet drain hose and an outlet drain hose attached to it. If the hoses crack, split or break, they need to be replaced. If the pump breaks, it needs to be replaced. Maytag sells a pump repair kit with parts and instructions for repairs to the pump impeller assembly.
Door Gasket
# The door gasket can crack and peel away from the door frame over time, causing less pressure inside the machine during use, letting heat and steam escape and causing water leaks. A replacement gasket is simple to apply to add to the useful life of the dishwasher. This is a relatively inexpensive replacement part.
Selector Switch
# The selector switch signals the dishwasher components to engage at the proper time and duration in the washing cycle. If it breaks, the machine will not cycle through its functions properly or at all.
Heating Element
# The heating element heats water to high temperatures for quick and sanitary washing. Dishes won't get as clean without high heat. This is a rather expensive replacement part.
Handle Latch
# The handle latch can break or break off, requiring replacement to operate the machine. Dishwashers won't operate without the door completely closed and the latch mechanism locked.
Other Common Parts
# Other common parts for Maytag dishwashers are knobs and plastic dish rack pieces, which are fairly cheap to replace. Parts like the push button control panels, internal control panels, solenoid, control actuator and control module are more expensive and involved to replace.
