Essential Accessories For Commercial Dishwashers

Once you have bought your commercial dishwasher or glass washer, you will need to consider what accessories are essential or desirable for your appliance. It is important to bear in mind the
size and capacity of your machine, as accessories can vary in their dimensions. Plate baskets are available in different sizes, so ensure that you purchase the correct size for your appliances. A 400mm or 450mm stackable basket constructed from hard wearing plastic will cost around £30. A basket of this size contains a plate rack which accepts 14 x 8 inch plates or seven larger plates and has both close spacing for plates and wide spacing for bowls. A 500mm basket will accept a larger number of plates and bowls and costs around £50. Basket lids are useful, as these will keep plastic cups in place during the wash cycle. A lid to fit a standard 500mm x 500mm basket is around £20 and you can expect to pay a further £20 for a drip tray to stand your basket on.

You may need to purchase a commercial dishwasher stand. A stainless steel version is available, standing 600mm high with adjustable feet, and this will accept a full sized front loading machine. Pass through dishwasher tables are another item you may wish to purchase. These are universal tables for use with most pass through commercial dishwashers. Standard sizes are available, although some companies will make sizes to order, for example to fit awkward or tight spaces in your kitchen. A standard table will cost between around £900 to £1,000 and a premium pass through table could set you back as much as £1,500. Dishwasher tables are of stainless steel construction and fit most pass through dishwashers. They are usually sold in pairs and are known as "soiled tables" and "clean tables".

Tables are available left to right or right to left and can be corner or in line fitting. A typical specification for a soiled table is that it is 1200mm long with one full sink and one half sink. There is integral support for a pre wash spray (if this is desired, being an optional extra). Commercial sink waste outlets are provided, along with a bucket fill mixer tap and there is also an under shelf for water softener. The clean table is usually around half the length of the soiled table and contains built-in chemical racks and storage for four baskets.

A catering sink is another essential aid to your commercial dishwasher or glass washer. These can cost in the region of £500 for a single bowl sink and £1,000 for a double bowl sink. If you have the space and the money to spare, you are advised to choose a double bowl sink, as an extra bowl is invaluable for rinsing off. Catering sinks are manufactured from polished heavy duty stainless steel. Sink tops come fitted with either a single or double bowl and left or right hand drainer and mixer taps or individual pillar taps are available according to your choice.
